Old Time Fiddle & Mandolin Workshop with Charlie Walden

We’ll play some signature tunes from National Heritage Award winners, the late Lyman Enloe.  Lyman was from the south central part of Missouri and learned his craft from another famous old time fiddler, Tony Gilmore of Jefferson City.  Primarily a dance player, in later life he moved to the Kansas City area became known as a Bluegrass fiddler.  His playing was very smooth and melodic. 


Teaching will be by ear and by imitation, but I’ll be provide the “dots” and mandolin TAB by email after the workshop and suggest some other of my on-line resources.  


You’ll need to bring your instrument, an electronic tuner (if needed) and a recording device of your choice.     You are welcome to record audio during the entire workshop.  

Attendees will receive free access to download a copy of my “Project” containing renditions of my playing 175+ tunes in MP3 format. My numerous other CDs and books with be on-hand for sale at the workshop, as well.

The level of the workshop will be beginner-intermediate to intermediate.
